Definition: Fangotherapy

Fangotherapy is a type of treatment where thermal mud that contains high concentrations of minerals are spread over the body to help cleanse, purify, and revitalize the skin. After the mud is applied, the treatment also commonly involves bathing, perspiring, and a massage.

Not only does a fangotherapy session leave you looking radiant and feeling calm (a result from the warm mud), but it also helps draw toxins out of the body, minimize muscle aches and pains, and help treat osteoarthritis, gout, and skin irritations.

Sounds fun! I love mud! I used to play in it all the time as kid. My mom hated me for it! :)

I'm really skeptical of pseudoscience (and I'm afraid a lot of high end cosmetics/skincare is just that), and I'd like to know what "drawing out toxins" means.

The treatment itself sounds like fun, but the name turns me off - "fango" means "mud" in Spanish, but it has quite a few negative connotations.
