Just take a look at a Glossier product, and you'll know that millennial pink isn't going anywhere anytime soon [1]. However, to paraphrase the great Cher Horowitz, "May I please remind you it does not say 'RSVP' on the list of hot new Instagram beauty trends."
I use that quote from Clueless because Gen Z yellow, millennial pink's underdog younger cousin, is currently all over Instagram — and it's hard not to compare the shade to Cher's iconic plaid suit [2]. This hue has been a fashion trend since last Summer, when Man Repeller [3] coined the term. Now that hue, previously reserved for clothes (see: Greta Gerwig's daffodil gown [4] at the 2018 Oscars), has moved north to infiltrate our makeup. And we are all about it!
