For Janelle Monae's appearance at the Grammys, makeup artist Oslyn Holder wanted to give her a pretty, '40s-inspired look with classic (yet fun) pops of color. To learn how to get dolled up like Janelle, using products from Nyx, just keep reading.
For a fresh and dewy look, Oslyn blended the brand's Liquid Makeup in Caramel ($14) with a little face moisturizer. To give Janelle's cheeks color with depth, Oslyn blended and applied the Grinding Blush in Apricot ($17) and HD Grinding Blush in English Rose ($17).
Oslyn used Eye Shadow in Brown ($6) as a base, then added definition with the Eye Shadow in Charcoal Brown ($6). She lined the top of Janelle's lids with Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Black ($5), followed by two coats of Volumizing Doll Eye Mascara ($9).
Oslyn applied a combination of the Slim Lip Pencil in Toast ($4) and the Slim Lip Pencil in Espresso ($4) to Janelle's lips. She then topped the neutral lip color look with Soft Matte Lip Cream in London ($6) and a swipe of Black Label Lipstick in Natural ($8).
