Slay Like Gigi Hadid With This 6-Step Makeup Tutorial

Mar 21 2016 - 6:00pm

Gigi Hadid couldn't help but turn a few heads at Sunday evening's Daily Front Row Awards in Los Angeles, where she wore a see-through white dress [1] to celebrate her sister Bella winning the Model of the Year award. Gigi had her mom, Yolanda Hadid [2], by her side, as well as her other model sister, Anwar.

In addition to wearing an eye-catching ensemble, Gigi was picture-perfect thanks to the help of makeup artist Patrick Ta. As part of the Maybelline family [3], both Gigi and Patrick collaborated on a look that was glowing and edgy, or as Patrick called it on Instagram [4], "another slay."

Patrick shared the steps he used to create Gigi's glamourous look — read on to follow the six steps he and assistant Lyndsay Zavitz used to give Gigi a red carpet glow.

Face

After using moisturizer as a base on Gigi's skin, Patrick's second step was applying a layer of Facestudio Master Prime [5] ($8) in Blur + Illuminate to help hold everything together.

Next, Patrick applied Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation [6] ($10).

When it came to contouring, Patrick reached for the bronze shade in Maybelline's Facestudio Master Contour Palette [7] ($12).

As a finshing step, Patrick brushed Facestudio Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder Translucent [8] ($10) over Gigi's face.

Since he knew Gigi had a big night ahead, Patrick also used Facestudio Master Fix Setting Spray [9] ($12) in Translucent to ensure her makeup would stay put.

Under the Eyes

Patrick took care to pay attention to Gigi's under-eye area, using Superstay 24-Hour Concealer [10] ($8). Patrick's trick? He used a shade lighter than the foundation.

Cheeks

To add a bit of rosy color, Patrick selected Fit Me Blush [11] ($4) for Gigi in Medium Nude.

Eyes

When it came to eyeliner, Patrick only added color to the waterline of Gigi's bottom lids. He selected Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil [12] ($7) in Soft Nude.

On Gigi's lids, Patrick reached for the light beige tone in The Blushed Nudes Palette [13] ($10). He used a Champagne color as an accent.

To finish, Patrick went with the Glam Brown color of Volum' Express The Colossal Washable Mascara [14] ($6).

Brows

On Gigi's eyebrows, Patrick kept things simple by using a touch of Eyestudio Brow Drama Pomade Crayon [15] ($9) in Blonde.

Lips

Patrick followed two steps to create Gigi's statement lip color. He began by lining and filling her lips with Maybelline ColorSensational Lip Liner [16] ($6) in the color Toast.

Finally, Patrick added a topcoat of Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipcolor [17] ($7) in Nude Thrill.
