Have You Tried a Minx Manicure?

Minx manicures, the metallic-colored professional-only nail wraps, are becoming more popular thanks to celebrities like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Kelly Clarkson. Most recently, at an LA Lakers game, Hayden Panettiere wore a gold foil manicure. Seeing her auriferous manicure got me to thinking that perhaps I should try my hand at sporting some Minx, and according to the brand's website, the nearest salon is a just a mere .2 miles away from my apartment. What about you? Have you tried — or do you plan on trying — a fashionable Minx mani?

I absolutely LOVE the concept, but, as someone who 'walks' with her hands, I don't know if it would be such a great idea. I have to get thick acrylic put on my nails just so they don't break. My paws take a serious beating, but man, I'd love to have an excuse to splurge... ;)

It would not last more than a few days on me. I'm lucky if I get a week out of OPI polish, even with a top coat. Not worth the price tag.

They're cute, but not worth the money. I think metallic nail polish gives just enough shine that it's pretty sufficient to catch the eye. It lasts 1-2 weeks ish.

I wish! I can't even do $10 on a regular basis now a days.

I love that color, but $60 is a stretch. It would have to last 6 weeks (aka the $10/wk it costs me now).

oo they look so cool, but $60? I can't even justify $10 for a mani because they only last one night for me.

they are so pretty, but I don't like to spend a lot of time or money on my nails.

Maybe if they weren't so expensive. I tend to destroy manicures pretty quickly.

They seem interesting, but I would rather try something similar at home, since I think a Minx manicure costs around $60 (maybe ok for a *very* special event, but not so much just for fun).

One of my friends is a nail tech who does Minx manicures! She even has a blog about it and she has done house parties!
