Beginning in the midnoughties, it seemed like Botox appeared everywhere, especially at social functions. There were Botox brunches, Botox boats, cosmetic surgery bachelorette parties, and even injectable house parties.
Physicians highly discouraged people from having procedures done outside a sterile clinic environment, but that didn't stop people from coming in for a little cheap Botox and lox. Sadly, we never encountered one of these joyous events in real life — they seemed to be more the stuff of admonitory trend pieces in The New York Times than actual occurrences.
