How to Use a Flat Iron as an Iron

Hot Tip: Use Your Flat Iron on Your Clothes

Your flat iron may double as a curling iron, and it can also be used to make beachy waves. But that's not all this multifunctional hair tool can do.

When in a pinch, use your flat iron as a makeshift iron to smooth out wrinkles in your clothes. This can come in especially handy during travel or if you're living in a small space and don't have room for an iron or ironing board. Burners beware: Start off with a low temperature and adjust as needed in order to avoid scorching your favorite ivory blazer or colorblock frock.

I've always done that. I have this shirt with little ruffles with need to be ironed so they sit right and a big iron just doesn't give the same precision as a straightener.

Ha! I have been doing this for as as long as I had a flat iron.

For some reason this doesn't appeal to me, though I'm sure it's a fine idea. I have a travel steamer (about the size of a blowdryer) and I bring that if I know I'll need items ironed.
