Glitter can go one of a few ways: good, bad, or really bad. But backstage at the ICB by Prabal Gurung show, we learned a thing or two about making the look work, and it involves a haphazard application. Butter London's Katie Hughes did the nails at the show, starting with a coat of the unreleased shade Leccy. She then created a stripe using nail art foil, while some nails had a glitter tip.
The makeup was meant to be easy, creating a sporty, rave-girl look reminiscent of the '90s. "The world he's [Prabal] creating on the runway is moody, clubby, kind of that dark, '90s rave feel; almost like you're in a warehouse somewhere," said Yadim, lead makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics. He used holographic glitter on the eyes, making it appear as if the models applied it with their own fingers.
