Jessica Alba [1] just tried out the superlong hair trend [2], and it has us wondering: why did it take her so long?

The LA's Finest [3] actor is on a European tour with best bud and costar Gabrielle Union [4] in Madrid, Spain. For the occasion, hairstylist Jesus Guerrero [5] pulled out the big guns — i.e. incredibly long hair. And by long, we mean all the way down to her hips.

Alba's a woman of many talents, one being the ability to pull off any hairstyle she tries [6]. Whether she's dabbling with an asymmetrical bobs, short bangs, and tousled waves back in 2002, she wears them all with ease. One thing she's always kept the same, however, is her brunette hair color — until now. Not only was her hair as long as can be, but it also faded into a lighter, almost blond hue, a perfect dye job for the Summer months.

Hollywood has been obsessed with superlong hair for months now. Kim Kardashian [7] loves the trend, taking cues from her fashion icon, Cher [8]. Kardashian's sister Kylie also jumped on the Rapunzel hair bandwagon [9] back in April with hair that practically touched the floor. And we can't forget Nicki Minaj, [10] who spearheaded the trend and may just win top spot for longest hair on the red carpet, well, ever.
