However, she proved at last night's Academy of Country Music Awards that she could totally cross over into country — and not just because of her glorious duet with Dolly Parton [3].

The country music beauty scene is legendary for its tendency toward voluminous strands (remember Kacey Musgraves's enormous mane [4] at the 2014 CMAs?), and Katy turned up with appropriately huge hair for the red carpet. Her glossy black strands featured a majorly amped-up crown with face-framing waves. A razor-sharp cat eye and a bright orchid lip were the finishing touches on her face, while designer Jeremy Scott provided Katy with a metallic cowgirl-inspired ensemble [5].
