All this month, Dillard's and Lancôme have been raising funds to support St. Jude, and this Friday the 21st (aka "Genes Day"), it's your chance to help out even more. The beauty brand will donate $7 from each purchase of Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate ($58 to $125), pledging $300,000 from the day's sales to benefit the children's hospital. Interesting facts about St. Jude:
- The children's hospital is known predominately for researching and treating cancer, but they also treat other diseases, such as sickle cell anemia and pediatric AIDS.
- Since its opening in 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (the most common form of childhood cancer) has gone from four percent to 94 percent today, and it's thanks to the research done by doctors and scientists at the institution.
- Seventy-five percent of the funding to keep St. Jude operating comes straight from public donations.
- St. Jude has treated children from every state in the US, as well as all over the world.
