Lauren Conrad's hair just keeps getting shorter! A little over a month after the former reality star debuted a new shoulder-grazing lob on Instagram [2], she's back at it with yet another hair switch-up — and her latest upgrade just might be her shortest 'do yet.
She enlisted the expert hair-snipping skills of her longtime stylist, Kristin Ess [3], to chop her locks into a gorgeous chin-length bob, and we're feeling seriously inspired to copy it ASAP. Kristin cut Lauren's hair to directly line up with her chin and styled it by giving her a deep side part and flipping it over, creating a choppy, layered appearance. Her strands are relatively straight with the slightest bit of texture and bend, which you can achieve by subtly curving your strands with a flatiron (or, if you prefer to avoid using heated tools, by sleeping with your hair up in a ponytail). It looks like she's officially ditched those dreamy signature waves from her Laguna Beach days for good (*cue the brief moment of silence for the most envy-worthy hair of my teenage years*). But can you blame her? It's been quite the busy year for LC, who gave birth to her first child [6], son Liam James, in July. Between raising her new son, designing items for her Kohl's line [7], and fulfilling her duties as cofounder of The Little Market [8], the 31-year-old working mom is quite the busy bee, and her new hassle-free cut is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's practical, it dries quickly, it's easy to style, and considering how much of a trendsetter LC is, we're predicting it'll be the new buzzy cut for the coming year.
