Mandy doesn't use musk in her own work, but she keeps this furry (and rather stenchy) musk pod on hand for teaching purposes. The distinctive musk scent comes from glands or "pods" cut off male musk deer. The insides of the pods contain scented musk "grains," which get scraped out and heavily diluted with alcohol until the blend smells soft and aromatic.
