Let's Get Something Straight, Part II

Let's Get Something Straight, Part II

Hair straightening balms are really useful this time of year. Spring showers breed humidity and new found warmth in the air. Your frizzies, which seemed somewhat manageable in the cold winter, have now come back with a vengeance. Have no fear, these styling products will tame those frizzies, fly-aways and help relax unwanted curls or cowlicks. Apply to damp hair and blow dry straight. Enjoy!

Hang Straight by Aveda, $17.50, is a great product to help fight fly-aways and protect hair from humidity and frizz. It is made from certified organic marshmallow root and flax seed to smooth out hair and dramatically enhance shine. This product is perfect for super curly or wavy hair.

For two more straightening balms,

got2b Smoothed Over Straightening Balm, $5, is the solution to smoothing and straightening unwanted waves. Simply apply a small amount to the palm of you hand, distribute evenly throughout your hair, brush it through and blow dry. It is made with natural botanicals that not only smell good, but will help protect your hair against heat styling.

Brilliant Brunette Simply Sleek Straightening Balm, $6, is a hair straightening aid that also adds glisten and sheen to your rich brown locks. It has a lightweight, non-oily formula that leaves hair with a smooth, satiny finish. The good news is that it can also be used on your hair the next day for quick touch ups - bellissima!

Got2Be Smoothing lotion is really sticky. I've switched over to using the Got2Be hair creme [Play?] which works and feels a lot better. The Fructis one works really well too.

Aveda can be so drying, except for the elixir. The Hang Straight works faily well but I always think it smells like smoke in a weird way, not the best scent.

It seems like no matter what products I use on my hair, it will still frizz when it is going to rain. I'll have to look into these products! See, when I try and straighten my hair in the morning...I'll always be able to tell you if it will rain that day. Because my hair will NOT cooperate and straighten. So when it does that, I throw it up in a ponytail like normal, and get irritated. :-) I love to wear straight hair, but think it is a pain in the butt to get up extra early just to do so.

Marshmallow root? This may be a stupid question, but is there something more to marshmallows than sugar and air that I don't know about?

Hang Straight is great! It gives my fine, straight hair texture and hold to keep it straight throughout the day even when its humid.

Even though I have fine, straight hair, I love the Hang Straight. My stylist used it on my last week when I got my hair cut, and, although I was hesitant, I loved the way my hair looked when she was done. She also used a volumizer, but the Hang Straight made my hair smooth and shiny. I've been using it ever since.

I love the sister of Hang Straight which is Get Curly. L-O-V-E it! I have naturally curly hair and have tried everything in the book. That one product actually DOES what is says it will. Kudos to Aveda. :)
