Love It or Hate It: Miss Universe Japan's Futuristic Geisha Look

Love It or Hate It? Miss Universe Japan's Futuristic Geisha Look

Miss Universe Japan 2009 Emiri Miyasaka let her imagination run absolutely wild today in Tokyo. She rocked bright pink cheeks, big false eyelashes, fuchsia lips, and hair that ran the gamut from frizzy frouf to Princess Leia bun to a pink netting bow. She also left her pants at home, much like Lady Gaga has. I admire her boldness, and she's obviously having a good time, but would you ever do this, or is it too much all at once for you?

This outfit is bad and she should feel bad.

I think the look is interesting if you are into arts and photography. But wear it? No, it´s too much for my taste.

The look is great from the waist up.

Her outfit isn't perfect but at least she tried and bravo to her for trying out such a bold look and bringing something different to the table.

I really love her makeup ut the outfit is ridiculous.

The lack of pants makes it look tasteless. If she had a skirt, or a longer dress, I think it'd be cute in a kinda hodgepodge totally-Japanese way.

I'm all about panty shots, why not. It's cute for a costume type event.

Love the makeup, hate the outfit!

More importantly, why the f-ck do beauty pageant contests still exist? Are we still stuck in the 50's and I just didn't get the memo? That crap is just ten shades of DUMB. Regardless, eh, I like her makeup.

I really like it, well except the pant-less part (shorts?) but I do think the future may be pant-less so it isn't a big hangup for me. In general I do think the future style will be more individualized and less clinical (the exact opposite of what you see in most scifi movies).

Hate it. Cyber geisha can be a cool look but this just doesn't work. It needs 5 more (or less) inches of hem and a waist cincher instead of her mother's obi. Nothing about the outfit is traditional except the obi so it looks really out of place.

I want no part of a future where we wear garters but no pants.

LOL - I agree with bonniebonnie - I saw the pic and thought, "oh, that's kind of cool," until I scrolled down and thought, "WTF!"

It's nice to say beauty pageant contestants doing something different. . .I'm not sure I like this exactly, but still, it's a change of pace.

It was fine until I scrolled down and saw a hot pink crotch. Come on.
