Michelle Phan's DIY Skin Care: Smoothie Mask

We're excited to announce our new partnership with YouTube star and all-around beauty guru Michelle Phan! Every other week we'll be bringing you the best advice and prettiest how-tos from her website, MichellePhan.com. We're kicking things off with this sweet recipe for a complexion-boosting smoothie mask>:

Hi everyone,

Whenever I'm traveling, I try to pick up new beauty tips and tricks from the unique places I visit. For example, I learned about today's DIY skin care recipe while visiting Thailand! I love how easy this smoothie mask is to make and the way it naturally brightens your skin's complexion.

Just keep reading to see how Michelle makes her smoothie mask.

To make this mask, you'll need two simple ingredients:

  • 1 papaya
  • 1/2 fresh pineapple

Instructions:
Cut up both fruits into small pieces and toss everything into a juicer (like you're making a smoothie!). Once that's finished blending, use a cotton pad to soak up the mixture and apply it on your face and neck.

Leave the juice on your skin for 10 minutes and then rinse it off. The acid from the fruits will help turn over and brighten your skin's complexion.

This concoction is also very healthy to drink (just don't drink the mask after you wore it; make a new batch!).
Good luck!

Same here awesomepants. And if it had mangoes, well there goes my beauty treatment: in my stomach.

Great idea; however, using a whole papaya and half of a pineapple will make enough for several people. Papayas can be as small as a U.S. football or as long as eighteen inches! If using cotton to absorb some of the juice perhaps just strain it and use the untouched pulp with orange juice for a smoothie.
