New Romance Survey Says Perfume Is Important in Dating

Survey Finds Fragrance Plays a Key Role in Modern Romance

Glamour magazine and Ralph Lauren Romance teamed up for a survey on modern romance, and the results from the 1,000-person study reveal that fragrance plays a key role in dating. A full third of people polled remember what their significant other smelled like on their first date, and a whopping 73 percent of people's "lucky date items" are fragrances. To see my take on the findings, just keep reading.

I can see why a high proportion of people might be spritzing on lucky perfume before a date; after all, scent can have a profound influence on attraction. But 34 percent of people remembering what their SO smelled like on the first date? I couldn't tell you what any guy I've dated smelled like the first time we went out, and I love fragrance. What about you? Can you relate to these statistics?

I may not distinctly remember, but if I smell it again it comes back to me. Love a guy who smells good just as much as I love it when a guy tells me I smell good.
