Olay Total Effects Touch of Sunshine

Must-Have of The Moment: Olay Regenerist Touch of Sun

I've got to tip you off about this newish Regenerist Touch of Sun UV Defense Regenerating Lotion ($15.19) from Olay. It has become nothing short of a cult craze in the United Kingdom and Australia. (However, be warned, if you are a reader from across the pond or down under you'll want to know that this gem may also be called Olay Total Effects 7x Touch of Sun. )

Not only does it claim to moisturize with a light, non-greasy formula, gradually create a non-streaky and natural looking facial tan, improve the condition of the skin in seven days and help diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also contains SPF 15. I personally haven't tried it yet, but I've been reading tons of reviews and I feel obliged to share both the pros and cons with you. To find out what they are,

  • CONS: Apparently if you don't wash your hands really well, the stains can cause major stains — even on your fingernails! Also, it's slightly orangey and if you are really pale, steer clear from using it daily or you'll turn an unnatural shade.
  • PROS: Believe it or not, it doesn't streak, and the moisturizing aspect of it is getting great reviews. Many feel that it is light and absorbs quickly. Also, doesn't have that icky, self-tanning cream smell.

With the majority of self tanners you have to wash your hands immediately otherwise you can stain your hands, not to mention your clothing. I would assume that this wouldn't be a problem for most self tanners out there.

There's tons of this at my store. No one buys it.

ok i use this and here is my take on it! 1) i have pale skin and i do find that if i use it too many days in a row i get orange-y. so i tend to use this maybe two or three days a week. enough to get a nice color but not too much to turn orange. that being said- i do think after say two days of using it i have a nice tint of tan to my face, it looks like a nice healthy tan. and its never turned my hands or nails orange (i do wash them after of course but i don't like scrub them or anything) 2) i do find it slightly greasy. i think my forehead looks greasy after a few hours- more so than it does when i'm not using it. however it doesn't streak. 3) as for a smell- i think it smells slightly like sunblock but not overpowering. its minimal and it doesn't bother me (and i don't like smelly stuff). anyways my vote is it'd be worth checking out if you are looking for a face product with self tanner- it has the regenerist benefits and i've had mine for a long time now- a little goes a long way!

I just checked the ingredients in this... which includes dimethicone... I might as well smear motor oil on my face.

I'm not lucky like the alabaster and porcelain skinned chicas out there, if I'm not tan I think I just look off. I've sworn off tanning beds and wear spf religiously, praying to avoid the repercussions of tanning wayyy too much in high school. I love Olay regenerist, it's what I use now daily. I definitely have to check this out! Thanks Bella!

I love Olay--their products always work so much better for me than any other brand. But I'm not a fan of anything self-tanning. I like fair skin.

Noooo orangey anything is coming anywhere NEAR my alabaster skin. Nuh-uh. I have worked waaay too hard to keep it this color, and cult favorite or not, I shall be skipping merrily on past this one.

nyaradzom2001, I to have extremely sensitive skin. I really like neutrogena's Ultra sheer Dry touch SPF 55 runs about $10.00 at drug stores and I love it. It is not greasy and absorbs fast.

i am a black girl who has never used sunscreen, i'm 22 now. i haven't been outdoors much in 3 years since the weather here is pretty gloomy and cold but now i'm going back home to sunshine and i want sunscreen. I'm pretty allergic to olay products as i have super sensitive skin anyone know what sunscreen i can get on a student budget.

I wonder what it smells like? I've sworn off tanning (must.not.tan.), but all of the self-tanners/tints I've tried have that weird smell!!

I like the idea of having a self-tanning face cream with SPF in it. I've been using Jergens Natural Glow for the face, but it's not very moisturizing. Maybe I'll check this stuff out.
