We frequently use Pinterest for beauty education as well as inspiration. We dig through the seemingly endless images to discover DIYs, motivate future purchases, and perhaps most frequently, to see how we should be mixing up our look. And we know we're not alone. After all, there wouldn't be over four billion beauty pins if not for our fellow users! But now, thanks to the Pinterest insights team, we're getting access to something new: trend forecasting.

Using the last year's data, the crew at Pinterest analyzed the top 10 emerging beauty trends for next year. This includes major categories like shopping suggestions, tutorials, and natural remedies. (They also came up with a handy way to keep track of all the trends you try.) From chrome polish to microblading, keep reading to get an advance look at what will be hot in 2017.

Ash Balayage

According to Pinterest, searches for this hair look are up 240 percent. It's characterized by deeper roots that softly melt into cool (or ash) ombré ends. If you're a dye virgin, balayage is the perfect technique for you to try. That's because the color is carefully painted onto strands, meaning no lines of demarcation (thus requiring fewer salon appointments). Get more balayage inspiration here.

Chrome Nails

Chrome (or mirror) manicures are so high-shine, you can actually see your reflection on the surface of your nails. While some opt to use more complicated powder and polish techniques, this simple lacquer from Born Pretty will give you a foil-esque finish in just a few coats. Microblading

Searches on this brow tattooing technique are up a whopping 255 percent. Though it can be painful, many who go through with the process swear that it changes their life — their arches are bold, natural-looking, and (of course) completely waterproof. Learn more about one real woman's experience with microblading here.

Cut Crease Eye Shadow

This popular technique makes eyes of any size look enormous thanks to the chiseled, defined crease. After mastering the method using this clever spoon hack, look at cut crease eye shadow inspiration from Instagram here.

Head Scarves

Head scarves can disguise a less-than-stellar hair day, prevent you from leaving the house with wet strands, or just add more style to your look. It's no surprise, then, that this category has seen a 25 percent search increase on Pinterest. Learn seven different ways to tie your own — from simple headband designs to advanced turban twists — in this video.

Braided Top Knot

Braided Top Knot

You could keep rocking last year's basic bun, but by incorporating a braid, you can add major pizzazz. Pinterest has seen a 125 percent increase in searches for this topic, so start practicing! This plaited chignon dreamed up by Sarah Potempa will stay put through a morning workout, a strenuous work day, and happy hour.

Heat-Free Hair Tutorials

Curling irons and other hot tools might be staples in your hair care arsenal, but they don't create masterpieces without leaving behind some damage. If you're thinking about going on a heat hiatus, there are plenty of ways to keep your strands stylish. If you're looking to achieve glossy, cascading curls, this easy tutorial from Real Beauty by Cynthia will soon become a go-to technique.

Charcoal Masks

Charcoal Masks

Charcoal is a popular ingredient in beauty products due to its powerful yet natural detoxifying qualities. Try the incredible Dr. Jart Pore Minimalist Mask ($35 for five) to absorb excess oil and shrink your pores, then discover more charcoal-infused skin care treatments here.

Lip and Cheek Stains

Double-duty formulas are a great way to cut back on makeup bag bulk as well as time spent primping each morning. If you're looking for a new lip and cheek tint to try, why not DIY your own? Learn how to mix one up at home with this easy tutorial.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba is naturally similar to human sebum, so applying it to oily skin or scalp will help regulate the body's production of oil. (Sounds crazy, but it really works!) Learn more about jojoba and other incredible oils that you can incorporate into your beauty routine here.
