And steph and others who are saying they could be donating. People with this kind of money usually donate MILLIONS of dollars a year to charity. Find out how much your favorite celeb donates. They usually don't donate a fraction of what non-celeb millionaires and billionaires donate. Bill Gates and Oprah spend millions and millions of charity each year, yet are still billionaires. When you get to that point in savings, the money makes money every minute.

I think Grace_08 had it exactly right. How many of you had honestly heard of Guerlain before this?

I find it absolutely disgusting that someone would spend that much money on a ridiculous tube of lipstick when you could saves hundreds of lives with the money. I read someone's comment that said "If I had the money lying around, why not?" That kind of money could change so many lives. I think anyone who would buy this has something very very wrong with them.

Nothing could possibly justify the cost of that lipstick... it's absolutely ridiculous!!!! I don't mind spending $25 or $30 on a nice lipstick, but ... even if I had enough money to be able to buy the Guerlain one, I can think of about a thousand better uses for it!

I am sure if you are of a certain class that this would be a nifty "fun" item to show off and enjoy. However, for people like me, if I am going to pay for gold and diamonds I would rather wear them as a ring, necklace, or earrings, or something that would be more visible to people and not something that is going to be stuck in my purse and only come out publicly when I am in the ladies room. :-)

Wow. I guess this is why most women in the US spend more on their pets and themselves than they ever give to charity., Shows were we are when we still produce things like this.

Now, if I could blow 62K on lipstick and it was just a fun little accessory then that would be a fun purchase. On the other hand, REALITY, 62K is a big deal and even a splurge of $62 dollars on lipstick seems ridiculous.

Anyone who would spend that money on lipstick instead of giving to people who could really use it should really be ashamed, like others have said. Think how many college educations that would pay for, or medical procedures for people without insurance, or food for people that can't afford it....instead of a stupid little tube of lipstick.

Ok, so at first I saw the price and my mouth literally just droppped. I mean 62,000?! You could buy a brand new Porsche for that much. I mean think about it, a brand new luxury sports car that could very well last a lifetime, or a tube of lipstick that you'll use up and probably lose. Then though I re-read about it and seeing that it has diamonds on it that does make a bit more sense. But honestly the only people who would purchase that is the insanly rich, who have EXCESSIVE amounts of money.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this is a little excessive. Even if you have millions, psh, I'd rather spend $25 on a Nars or Chanel lipstick. (Honestly, I'd probably lose the $62k lipstick, even with all the diamonds and gold!) But yes, it is refillable, and it comes in 15 different shades. Maybe that justifies the cost? ;)

Oh my gosh you would have to have a screw loose to spend that kind of money on lipstick. I would like to think my favorite celebs do not dare hopefully only those Hilton types that would be so reckless with money.

Oh gosh, you guys are looking at it from the perspective of the ordinary joe - which I assume we all are, so I suppose it's only natural. The folks who're going to buy this thing aren't the ordinary joe. They don't have to worry about saving for retirement, or using it as a down payment on anything. They're so rich, they already have it all taken care of (probably by someone else). This is just spare change to some people. I don't think it's meant to project the same image as jewelry. Most people have jewelry: a diamond ring, a gold necklace, some other valuable trinket. But who has a diamond studded gold lipstick case? Now that's extreme! It's just a novelty, meant to be unique; maybe a conversation piece. And yes, I looked it up; it's refillable. (For that much, it'd better be, huh?) They have (I think it was) 15 "customizable" shades. I wonder what that means. I suppose if you're wealthy enough to buy the lipstick, you can have them make up a special shade all for your own?
