Original Flowerbomb is an amazing perfume, so I was excited to sniff its flanker, La Vie en Rose ($80). Unfortunately, I can't say that I like it all that much. Instead of the rich, heady floral you get with the original, this one smells like those strawberry hard candies with the liquid center that banks and offices always have at reception, washed down with a sip of cognac.
It's not a bad scent, but, as a fellow Flowerbomb aficionado who tried it told me, "If you like Flowerbomb because it's so strong, and sexy, and lasting, you probably won't like the new one." I wholeheartedly agree. It's a pretty scent if you like light, fruity florals, but I can't see spending 80 bucks for it.
