The dubious "solar accord" makes a disheartening return to mess up Angel, the original gourmand fragrance and global favorite. Angel Sunessence ($80), has the same big, wood-smelling note, and then dries down very differently on different people. On blondie Bella, it was pure sugar, and smelled like a watery, warm weather-appropriate version of the original, with lots of cotton candy, vanilla, and caramel. On short-haired Bella, however, this scent went horribly wrong, and smelled acidic, totally woody, and just plain unpleasant. The lesson? Spray before you buy.
