Smooth Move: Smoothing Shampoos For Straight Hair

Smoothing shampoos are great for hair that tends to be frizzy and unruly. The idea is to tame raised or shaggy cuticles in the hair. These shampoos have also been created to protect hair from the follow up of heat styling. Hair should look and feel softer, healthier and hydrated. I can't wait to hear what you think of these smoothing shampoos.

Phytobrush Special Smoothing Shampoo For Blow-Drying, $22, is an anti-frizz shampoo that works wonders for those of you who are constantly blowing out your hair. Not only do you want it to last for a few days, but you also want the blow out to be as easy and smooth as possible.

This shampoo is really fab for frizzy hair. It contains thermo-protective agents to help protect it from heat damage and also smooths out your hair cuticle so it's left looking shiny, soft and resilient.

For two more smoothing shampoos,

Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo, $20, is a gentle shampoo that can be used daily to help moisturize and smooth out straight or unruly hair. It helps cut out frizz, fly-aways and kinky waves. If used daily, this shampoo actually softens hair by up 60%.

It smells like delicious flowers, citrus fruits and sandalwood and it also helps protect hair from heat styling. This is a brand spankin' new product that will be released in May!

Jonathan Product Shampoo Weightless Smooth No-Frizz Cleansing Crème, $20, cleanses, moisturizes, softens, conditions, and smooths hair. When hair is wet and in its most vulnerable state, the shampoo reaches the damaged cuticle and helps smooth it out. It also protects hair from heat damage, environmental damage and fading, Oh, and it's also 100% vegan!

The best stuff i have ever used is Aussie hair care. Their 'smooth mate' shampoo makes my hair so soft and silky, which is pretty good as ive had it chemically straightened twice (huge mistake!) Aussie is getting my hair back into good condition :]

I use Paul Mitchells right now and it's great! I don't know about the rest of these.

Megami76, try Redken Rewind styling paste, it works great for flyaways, provides good hold and doesn't look greasy. I take a small amount in the palm of my hand (about the size of a nickel), and use kind of a clapping motion to spread it around and then work it through my hair.

I use Matrix Sleek Look and I can notice a difference when I use that versus a regular shampoo/conditioner. Has anyone else used any products listed above?

Here's my problem and if anyone has any advice, it's welcome! I have fine, straight hair. I use volumizing products, but after I take a shower and blow dry my hair with a flat paddle brush-- but afterwards, I get these flyaway crazy hairs that stick out and it drives me NUTS!!!

Hey, I haven't used any of these, but if you're looking for something cheap and good, I've actually had a lot of luck with Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine. The other Garnier Fructis stuff I haven't loved, but the Sleek & Shine shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum combo works really well and is really inexpensive.
