Surfer-Girl Hair

Surfer-Girl Hair

The trend: Surfer-girl hair

The breakdown: "I drew the inspiration from those Californian skater-surfer boys and gave the girls a boyish element with sun-bleached hair that looks tangly from days spent in the sun and salt." — Guido Palau for Redken at Alexander Wang

Get the look: "I wanted the look to be very beachy, so we kept all the hair super dry and wavy. I spritzed the hair with a sea spray product and let it dry naturally for a kinky curl. Then, to get it a little bit more chunky and piecey, I added a paste into the hair for more definition."

Sweaty, Black Eyeliner

Sweaty, Black Eyeliner

The trend: Sweaty, black eyeliner

The breakdown: "We're going for an immediate smoky eye without much work. You want it to crease on the lid, in a rock-and-roll way." — Maybelline New York Lead Makeup Artist Erin Parsons for Nicole Miller

Get the look: "I just use these eyeliners like a shadow, deepening the color on the lash line and smudging the shades together with my fingers."

Cuticle Art

Cuticle Art

The trend: Cuticle art

The breakdown: "We created this look to appear like jewelry on the nails. It's a different take on the traditional, on-the-nail art look." — Morgan Taylor Lacquer Lead Artist Tracylee for Rodarte

Get the look: "I started off painting the nails with a coat of nude nail polish and then created a gold, chain-like detail directly onto the skin surrounding the nail. To make sure the gold line lasts, rub your cuticles with rubbing alcohol before applying the polish to take off all the skin oils and debris."

Slick, Structural Hair

Slick, Structural Hair

The trend: Slick, structural hair

The breakdown: "This style is simplicity at its best, featuring a lacquered look — not necessarily wet — in the hair. It's sleek and sophisticated, with a touch of glamour and romance, so you can go from work to a party in the same style." — Moroccanoil Global Ambassador Antionio Corral Calero for Marchesa

Get the look: "I prepped the hair with a smoothing treatment first for shine, then used the flat iron to straighten the whole head. Then, I sectioned the hair into three parts, pulling the two side sections toward the back of the head and securing them with a small, clear elastic. Finally, I combed back the top section of hair over the crown of the head to cover the two elastics, spritzing the hair with hair spray as I went."

Sparkling, Burgundy Lips

Sparkling, Burgundy Lips

The trend: Sparkling, burgundy lips

The breakdown: "For the look, it's very much urban glamour with an individual look for each model while still keeping it minimal. So, we chose a dark lip with barely there makeup on the rest of the skin." — Pat McGrath for DKNY

Get the look: "I applied my brand, Pat McGrath Labs, lipstick in Blood 2 with a bit of sparkle on top of the lipstick. I then applied a little bit of a gold line onto the cupid's bow to brighten."

Geometric Nail Art
IMAXTREE | vincenzo grillo

Geometric Nail Art

The trend: Geometric nail art

The breakdown: "The look of the day is this big, geometric dot that's seen all throughout the collection. All the models are getting a different color nail with a different color dot. It's super fun to mix and match." — Miss Pop for OPI at Jeremy Scott

Get the look: "To create the look, you paint your nails the desired base color, allow to dry for a moment, and then pop on the dot by dipping a pencil eraser in the nail polish and placing it down onto the nail for the perfect circle."

Glossy Eyelids
IMAXTREE | vincenzo grillo

Glossy Eyelids

The trend: Glossy eyelids

The breakdown: "We are doing a really, real girl, like an indie girl. We tried to keep it as honest and authentic as we could with minimum makeup." — Mark Carrasquillo for Nars at Creatures of the Wind

Get the look: "To keep the look natural, apply a bit of clear lip gloss onto the eye for shine, brush up the brows, skip mascara, curl the lashes, and skip contouring and blush. Only apply a touch of lip color to the lips to bruise them up a bit."

Florescent, Matte Lip
IMAXTREE | vincenzo grillo

Florescent, Matte Lip

The trend: Florescent, matte lip

The breakdown: "I wanted to nod to classic glamour but with a sporty, modern, and fresh twist. I wanted the red lip to be brighter than your typical red, like a girl going to a rave. It's not your basic red, it's a florescent red, if that exists." — Yadmin for Maybelline at Jason Wu

Get the look: "For the models who get the statement lip, I first applied the liquid lip color for definition, then the lip pencil to blur the edges just a bit, and one last lip color dabbed onto the center of the lips to make the look pop — kind of like an ombré lip."

The Grown-Woman Bow
IMAXTREE | vincenzo grillo

The Grown-Woman Bow

The trend: The grown-woman bow

The breakdown: "No brushes required, this girlie, top-of-the-ear ponytail has the right amount of punky texture with a mature look." — Bob Recine for Morroccanoil at Monique Lhuillier

Get the look: "First, apply a volumizing mousse to dry hair and roughly blow-dry it to add texture. Then, gather hair into a ponytail at the back of your head and secure with an elastic. Wrap a ribbon around the elastic, into a bow for a delicate but kind of punk-like look."

Non-Touring
IMAXTREE | vincenzo grillo

Non-Touring

The trend: Non-touring

The breakdown: "The S/S '17 beauty is inspired by capturing each model's youthful spirit. We wanted a beautiful natural glow that highlights their radiance." — James Kaliardos for Nars Cosmetics at Rodarte

Get the look: "When re-creating this look, keep the makeup light — only covering up flaws — but be specific with things. Curl the eyelashes and groom the brows. You want to create a sheer and beautiful makeup look without having to contour the face or add lots of color."
