These Trans Teens Talking to Their Future Selves Will Make You Sob

Thanks to women like Caitlyn Jenner [1], Jazz Jennings [2], and Gigi Gorgeous [3], the world is starting to understand the transgender community [4]. Many of the life stories of transmen and transwomen will absolutely break your heart, but Mashable's recent dive into the world of transgender teens [5] brought us to tears.

In a special video, Mashable had the 11 teens they interviewed send a message to their future selves, and the results were incredibly heartfelt. "I hope you're in a good place," said 17-year-old Zane. "Be happy, please, because I'm miserable right now," he added. Zane revealed in his personal interview [6] that he fears being kicked out by his parents.

"I hope that your father has come around and is very supportive of you," said 12-year-old Charlie, as he stroked his hair. Charlie explained [7] that he currently doesn't speak to his father, who traumatically shaved his head in third grade.

Many of the teens expressed excitement for how different they'll look in just a few years, thanks to hormone therapy. But in the meantime, they're trying to stay strong. As 19-year-old Morgan teared up, he made a plea to himself: "Just believe in yourself, and you're going to do great." Watch this video and prepare to be moved — we dare you not to use any tissues.
