Unusual Beauty Contraption Found... Do You Know What It Is?

My friend Sabs from OnSugar is never without her camera, which is why she took this photograph outside of a beauty salon. She had no idea what the device was, and neither do I. My guess is that it's for weaving, braiding, or adding extensions to hair — but I could be wrong. It's a mystery to us; do you know what this is?

The geek in me had to go google and see if the other type of perm was an analogue perm. ;-)

Oo, those work, then? Sorely tempted to try one, then! Then again it'd probably be beastly with my shorter hair.

jrho is correct, it's a digital perm machine. lots of asian salons use it. it's not as harsh as a regular perm and give you nice and loose curls.

braid twister ?

i can't tell if those are cords or not, if they are, than it could be a machine for digital waves (perm for making soft loose waves).

At first glance I thought these were seaweed put there to dry. No idea!

Not a clue either, but this made me think of those little pink contraptions that were supposed to "braid" your hair.. I forget what they were called but essentially they would just twist your hair and occasionally get stuck or cause knots. The commercials were always on in the '90s.
