Video: Madison, the 5 Year Old Makeup Guru

What Do You Think of a 5-Year-Old "Makeup Guru"?

A 5-year-old named Madison currently has a makeup tutorial on YouTube that has almost 600,000 views. Unlike other little children playing with makeup, Maddy seems to be extremely well versed in the language of brush brands, haul lingo, and lots of other jargon that's both impressive and absolutely strange coming from the mouth of a child.

I think (I hope!) that Maddy is getting lots of line readings and coaching from an off-camera adult, but regardless, what do you think?

I'm going to laugh (in a good way, not a mean way) if she grows up to do something on the opposite end of the spectrum, like construction work. You never know how kids will grow up.

Honestly I have no strong feelings one way or the other. I doubt she is going to preschool like that...unless I am mistaken.

I honestly think the video is very cute, and I don't think anyone should be alarmed by it. Kids pick up everything. She mostly just seemed to be picking up things and saying "I really love it," which is what most makeup gurus do. It's super cute.

She's just playing and doing her thing. Kids that young always move onto something else after awhile and get bored. :)

rofl~~ so cute! On her youtube page, her mom said, "My daughter has watched too many makeup videos with me! Get Madison's favorite brushes , "I love it, you got to try it"!!" haha~ so cute!

In regards to HOW she knows all the lingo, I would bet that she's watched her mom or sister doing their makeup, and started asking questions: what the different brushes are for, what goes where on your face. You'd be amazed with the detail that a 5 year old can remember, and I bet she saw whoever was doing their makeup watching a youtube tutorial, and Maddy said she wanted to make one; it's a more technologically advanced form of adorable home movies.

I love this video. I've watched it so many times before. I think it depends. Madison doesn't seem to be doing anything serious; she's just trying to be like mommy! and i don't think she's getting coached. but there ARE a good bunch of young girls out there who seem to honestly think they need makeup, and they wear a LOT everyday. THAT'S when it's a problem. i just wish they would put down the mirror and realize they are perfect just as they are! i wish my skin was a beautiful as it was when i was 10, LOL!

i think it's cute...i've been doing makeup on myself, friends, and my mom since I was 11. when you like something, you like it. I've always been into makeup, reading, and other things that I am still into to this day, so why not? not like she's into adult toys or something
