I had the gel nails for about 6 months before taking them off for good. The nails looked nice but my real nails was a mess. Like JessieLee99, my nails was splitting and cracking like crazy. It just wasn't for me and I am working on growing my own.

I did the gel nail thing for a couple of months, and it had it's pro's and cons like anything. The colored gel or polish lasted the entire time, no chips, no problem. The down side, I'm one of those women who's nails it only lasted about a week to a week and a half on before it would chip or the gel would start to separate from my nail....so I found my self in the shop for a repair more frequently than I wanted. It was great having that extra layer of protection on the nail because for me, my natural nails had a big problem with splitting and chipping, but overall, I found the level of maintenance prohibitive.
