What A Pair: Mally Light Wand Eye Brightener

Here's another smart product from Mally Roncal, the makeup artist behind Mally Beauty Products. This Light Wand Eye Brightener ($25) is the perfect tool for awakening tired eyes and diverting attention away from dark circles.

The metal wand is much sturdier than the typical plastic encasings of beauty tools. One end houses a soft and creamy pencil that illuminates a light metallic shade (it's not too silvery, not too gold) in the little "sideways V" on the inner corners of your eyes.

The other side of the wand houses a soft smudging sponge covered in metallic shimmer dust. The powder is packed right into the cap, which makes this a terrific on-the-go product. All you have to do is soften up the "sideways V" area and your eyes instantly look, wider, lighter and brighter. But you don't have to limit yourself to eyes. Try dusting the powder onto the edge of your nose, under your brow bone and to that little nook above your upper lip to make your mouth look fuller.

My mom is a QVC junkie and she bought this for me a while back. At the time i was pretty hooked on Benefit's Eye Bright which pretty much does the same thing except is more on the pinker side. Anyway, i told her she was crazy and I was sticking to my Eye Bright... After a month of ignoring it, I finally gave in. Let me tell you how addicted to this I am now. I cannot live without this product. It totally perks you up. I even wear it to the gym. I try to pull off the no make up all natural look but i cheat and always curl my lashes and dab a little of this stuff around the corners of my eyes. People always tell me how twinkly my eyes look. Hee-hee!

I got this product as part of a kit and it's ok. Mine has plenty of powder (it re-applies itself to the sponge-tip when you close it) and I like the actual product. My gripe is that I don't think the tool itself is very well made. You are supposed to be able to unscrew the cap from the powder end but the entire thing pulled apart the first time I opened mine (the whole metal part came out from the plastic)! I still use it though...

Maybe I should try this....I have one, but it's thin like eyeliner and it sucks...it's useless.

I have to give this product a big thumbs down. I tried it, and there is very little actual powder in the container, and the pencil has a very dry consistency (which makes it hard to apply). It doesn't glide well. It's just my opinion, but it was a waste of money.
