What's the Weirdest Place You've Bought Beauty Supplies?

What's the Weirdest Place You've Bought Beauty Supplies?

Last week, I was enduring a spectacularly unpleasant bus ride when I spotted what I thought was a typical corner liquor store. Oh ho, but it was so much more. Take a look at the sign: This joint has a grocery, pharmacy, beer, liquor, wine, and "beauty supply products." I didn't stop in to check it out, but suffice it to say, it didn't look very promising. Where's the oddest place you've gone snooping for beauty supplies?

I've bought dollar store makeup before, and dollar store perfume. I was smelling a little less than fresh and ran in for something to make me smell as little bit better and ended up buying what is now my favourite perfume! It was a cheap brand that had collaborated with designer perfume makers to make scents that everyone could afford. Totally worth my seven bucks! I also almost bought some scented oil from my work (at a gift store) to wear as a perfume.

The weirdest place I ever bought products was my neighborhood beauty supply store. It doesn't sound like much, but that place is really, really weird. The front of the store looks like a used book market--there are all these weird, weird books lying around everywhere! Math books, italian textbooks, rifle manuals, poorly written novels... Even a book from 1890! I go in to rummage the old books and always end up coming out with some new makeup too.

probably at a wholesale base that looks like abendoned military base. just talk to my friend - she's been there again recently and loved it again :) we used to spend a lot of our parents' money there when we were 12-14.

Umm...I bought one of those Avon/Merimekko flower eyeshadow palettes a few months back at a fall craft fair. I thought it was weird that they were randomly selling Avon at one of the tables.

A burger place and a smoke shop near me both sell Avon, but I haven't bought any. Costco is about as daring as I get.

I stick with what I know as well. I've only bought my beauty supplies and cosmetics at CVS, Ulta, Sally's Beauty Supplies and various trusted 'hair' stores in my area.

Yep, Pet, that's the place on Fillmore. I was ridin' the Double Deuce!

Wait, this is that spot on Fillmore, right?! I've never been in here however I did buy a couple Bumble&Bumble and Redken items from a "we sell everything under the sun that may or may not have fallen off a truck but costs way less than Ricky's" type of place on the corner of 14th and 3rd in NYC.

I'm so scared to buy health/beauty from eBay, although I have friends who've done it and have gotten great deals. I've found my favorite bath products (Every Man Jack!) at Big Lots. The three-pack of bar soaps were just a dollar-fifty!

I much to afraid to buy cosmetics at a strange place. I've heard you should beware buying cosmetics from placed like eBay because they might be old or they have tampered with. I did buy a bottle of perfume on eBay before and it was fine, but I probably won't be doing that again.

Not beauty products, but I did buy jewelry at a gun show last year. It was quite pretty and sold at a reasonable price.
