Over the last several years, I've tested a lot of crazy products and hacks while hosting POPSUGAR Beauty's weekly Instagram series [1] First Impression Fri-YAY [2]. While not all of them turn out well, I've definitely discovered a few new favorites [3] through my on-camera beauty experimentations. And when I tried Winky Lux's new watermelon-inspired lip balm, I added another must-have product to my beauty bag. (When you see the adorable packaging, you'll understand why.) Ahead, watch me put the color-changing balm to the test.
Time to test some makeup!
Watermelon is far and away my favorite fruit, and I love makeup that changes to create my perfect shade! Luckily for me, this watermelon-infused lip balm checked both of those boxes; I simply couldn't wait to try it!
Winky Lux Watermelon Jelly Balm [4] ($14)
The balm is supposed to go from clear to pink.
The bottom lip has the balm (top lip does not).
My first impression of this balm? It's a perfect pick for Summer! My lips felt smooth and moisturized, and they maintained their perfect watermelon pinkness until I devoured a bowl of ramen several hours after application. Plus, the watermelon-patterned tube is downright adorable! It'll definitely be featured in all of my future Instagram shelfies.
