Anya Taylor-Joy's Beth Harmon is a mastermind chess prodigy with a memorable and iconic look, thanks in part to her fabulous auburn bob. On Oct. 30, Netflix shared a glimpse of how the blond actress got into character for The Queen's Gambit [1] — all sped up into a few seconds, for your viewing convenience.

Now, Halloween [2] plans have essentially come and gone at this point, but if I'd had more time, I like to think I would've dressed as Beth this year. Her '60s wardrobe [3] and chin-length hair create an exciting, bold look that would make an iconic costume. Welp, there's always next year.
