35 Standout Drugstore Launches of 2016
Beauty-lovers are often switching up their routine, cleaning out overstuffed makeup bags, and, most importantly, keeping an eye out for the latest and greatest in skin care, makeup, and hair. The new products in drugstores this year are quite the treat and the best part is that they're available almost everywhere, and the price is right! We're almost certain you'll want to get your hands on most, if not all, of these new launches — from a new cosmetics line with LED lights embedded into its products to a powder that transforms into a face scrub.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Correct & Cover Pink Grapefruit Moisturizer
Fight breakouts while neutralizing redness and lightly covering up skin with the newest addition to Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit range. The water-based tinted moisturizer's hero ingredient is the .5% salicylic acid, which works to clear skin while concealing those imperfections. It also has that lovely, signature light grapefruit scent.
LIT NYC Nail Polish
Inspired by the city that never sleeps, LIT NYC's products have an LED light to make application a breeze: the caps on the brand's five-free nail polish house the light that shines directly on your nails to make a DIY manicure a lot easier to perfect. We're excited about the fun colors in the line — from a glitter-packed silver to a classic red — but also looking to see what the new brand comes out with next!

Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash
Those with sensitive skin can now enjoy a scented body wash that is gentle thanks to Aveeno's new Skin Relief Gentle Scent Collection. The Nourishing Coconut body wash has a calming aroma that leaves skin feeling refreshed and super moisturized.
TRESemmé Botanique Nourish & Replenish Mist
TRESemmé's latest Botanique Collection of hair care is made to deliver healthy hair using nature's ingredients — like macadamia and avocado oils — and without harsh parabens, silicones, and dyes. One of our favorites of the new offering is the the Nourish & Replenish Mist detangling spray. It is infused with coconut milk, oil, and aloe vera, which won't weigh down your strands and will leave them seriously silky.
Lip Smacker Tsum Tsums
Try looking at these and not thinking, "aww!" Lip Smacker's Tsum Tsums are not just for lip-balm-lovers, but also Disney enthusiasts. The adorable dome-shaped balms come in four flavors — Mickey Marshmallow Pop, Minnie Strawberry Lollipop, Pooh Honey Pot, and Stitch Blueberry Wave — and you'll want to collect them all because they're stackable to create a supercute display.
Lip Smacker Tsum Tsums ($6 each)
CoverGirl truNAKED Shadow Palette in Nudes
Just when we thought CoverGirl outdid itself with the Star Wars collection of 2015, it rolls out the brand's Spring core collection, which includes a popular item we can't get enough of: nude palettes! New to the lineup is a range of three beautifully crafted neutral eye shadow palettes — nudes, roses, and golden — each filled with eight silky shades. The rich selection of colors lend themselves to everyday looks and more dramatic, statement-making eyes. Either way, the color payoff is just as good as some of the higher-end palettes we've tried, and the price doesn't get better.
Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel
We love anything that will save us time getting ready, and thanks to Wet N Wild, we're being treated to a one-step gel polish (no base or top coat necessary!) in 18 colorful shades. The chip-resistant formula is three-free, and a couple of coats are all you need for a bold, long-lasting set of nails.
Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel ($5 each)
Vichy Ideal Body Serum Milk
Treat parched Winter skin to a blend of lotion that utilizes hyaluronic acid and LHA (an exfoliating agent) to penetrate skin with hydration and leave it looking and feeling smooth. The silky formula is also made with a blend of essential oils and has a light peach blossom scent for the ultimate skin care treat.
Suave Professionals Coconut Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner
Coconut oil is known as one of beauty's best multitaskers, so it's no wonder we're seeing it pop up in Suave Professionals' newest shampoo and conditioner. The Coconut Oil Infusion hair care line was made to deliver moisture without weighing hair down, in addition to visibly repairing damage for healthier strands. After two uses we saw the salon-quality duo work its magic, resulting in soft, frizz-free locks — and at such an affordable price point, we'll be back at the drugstore for seconds.
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream With SPF 30
We've been longtime users of Olay's bestselling antiaging moisturizer, Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream ($25) — and this Spring, the popular formula is new and improved with the addition of SPF 30. The cream itself is just as fast-absorbing and nongreasy as the original. This hydrating moisturizer plumps and firms skin in just seven days, all while providing that layer of protection from the sun. What more could a girl ask for?
L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation
L'Oréal Paris's True Match foundation has arrived in a cushion compact for easy touch-ups and application. The liquid foundation lives in a micro-aerated sponge-like cushion, which allows the applicator puff to dictate how much product is dispersed. This means you can tap the puff into the cushion lightly for a small amount of product to get a sheer tint or build coverage by allowing the applicator to absorb more product with a stronger tap. Either way, the formula left our complexion looking radiant.
Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art Brush Kit
We don't think nail art is going anywhere this year, and neither do the folks at Sally Hansen because the brand's new brush kit is just what we need to step up our manicures. Even if you're a total beginner, you'll want to get your hands on the set. There's an awesome clean-up brush to remove nail polish mishaps, a fan brush for a striped or fanned effect (aka minimalist nail art), and a glitter and gradient brush for when you need some sparkle in your life.
Caress Enchant Forever Body Wash
Caress developed a body wash collection with Fragrance Touch Technology last year, which means the captivating scent will linger on the skin and become more prominent with every touch for up to 12 hours postshower. This year, it's adding two new scents to the lineup, and our favorite, Enchant Forever, is reminiscent of a luxurious fragrance. It's made with a blend of honeysuckle and satinwood, and if we could describe it in a few words, we'd say: sophisticated, seductive, and alluring.

Nexxus New York Salon Care Frizz Defy Finishing Mist
Next time curls get unruly or you want a little bit of hold for that silky blowout, try this medium-hold mist to keep hair in check. It's made with coconut extract and argan oil to provide a polished look that keeps frizz and flyaways at bay — but doesn't leave hair looking overdone. It's the perfect addition to any cool-girl hair arsenal.
e.l.f. Hydrating Bubble Mask
The brand that continues to bring us quality affordable cosmetics is making waves in the skin care game with a pretty awesome face mask. The innovative formula is dispensed through a small opening (you push down on the sides for the product to come out) to keep bacteria out. It goes on clear and then bubbles up into a white foam within seconds to give pores a deep cleaning after five to 10 minutes. Our skin was silky soft and radiant after one use, which is pretty impressive!
KISS Lash 101 Kit
If your New Year's resolution includes learning to apply faux lashes like a pro, or you're just on the hunt for the perfect starter pack, then feast your eyes on this kit. The seven-piece set includes everything from a step-by-step tutorial to a mirror and measuring tool for a truly customized set of lashes. It doesn't get easier than this — we see some Kylie Jenner-like falsies in our future.
KISS Lash 101 Kit ($5)
Revlon The 2016 Collection Nail Polish
High-definition color has always been synonymous with Revlon's color cosmetics, and the brand is giving us just that with the latest nail polish hues. Each of the eight bold shades in the 2016 collection is brand new, and the formula itself is five-free. Our favorite part is that it only takes one coat to start to see the color payoff.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant in Soothing Chamomile
Dove's 2015 biggest breakthrough was the Dry Spray Antiperspirant, and this year it is giving us a gorgeous new scent: Soothing Chamomile. Besides providing 48-hour odor and wetness protection, the light citrus fragrance has notes of lily of the valley, chamomile, and orange blossom. The uplifting trifecta of notes is just what you need for an extra fresh feeling.
Clear Complete Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner
Dandruff is one of those things we don't all like to talk about, but let's be honest, it happens. To banish those flaky foes, soothe an irritated scalp, and achieve amazing-looking hair in 2016 (and beyond!), Clear has introduced a cucumber- and mint-infused formula that's chock-full of nourishing vitamins like B3, B5, C, and E, in addition to aloe vera and biotin. Silky hair, here we come!
Bioré Baking Soda Scrub
Mix a little bit of this powder with water and be ready for quite the unique facial-cleansing experience. This concoction creates a gentle scrub that leaves skin 2.5 times cleaner and free of impurities like oil and dead skin cells. The bits of sodium bicarbonate in baking soda give it the texture needed to make a great exfoliator. And don't worry about overdoing it with this product — it naturally dissolves as you cleanse, making it completely foolproof!
Bioré Baking Soda Scrub ($10)
Eos 2016 Spring Pack with Kleenex
Stock up on Winter essentials all at once with this trio of Eos pink grapefruit balm, berry blossom lotion, and Kleenex tissues. The balm is a limited-edition flavor that will soothe chapped lips in no time, and the shea butter, aloe, and oat-extract-infused lotion is just what dry skin craves during these cold months.

Who doesn't love a multitasking beauty find? These kajal and liquid liner duos are packed with shimmer and pigment to create sparkly eye makeup in no time. They can be used to layer up on glinty liner and even create a natural look — let's just say the possibilities are endless and we're always down with glitter-filled makeup.
Yes To Natural Man Shower To-Go Cleansing Cloths
Yes To has expanded its skin care collection to include men's grooming products, but who says ladies can't borrow from the boys? In fact, the new To-Go Cleansing Cloths are just what we need after a cycling class for a quick spruce up. The 30-pack of wipes is soaked in a blend of aloe, oat oil, and coffee seed extract to refresh, soothe, and energize skin.
Pantene Pro-V Style Series Airspray
Say hello to Pantene's first-ever aerosol alcohol-free hair spray! The lack of alcohol allows the formula's fresh scent to come through, and the specially designed nozzle delivers an even application of the product for a more natural look. No more sticky stiffness? Say no more.
NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Volume & Length Mascara
Demi Lovato is celebrating her yearlong partnership with NYC New York Color by debuting a cosmetics collection she created herself. The Lovatics Collection embodies Lovato's bold style, and the mascara is a standout. The high-wax formula helps give lashes a boost of volume, and the dual-fiber brush ensures that every last lash is coated for a full and fluttery effect.
Essence How to Make Brows Wow Makeup Box
Brows can make or break your look, but a full arsenal of products can be costly. Essence is giving us an affordable option that includes everything you need to shape your arches to perfection in one kit. There’s a tutorial for the newbies, tweezers, a highlight powder, three eyebrow powders, and a double-ended applicator to help get the job done.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water
If 2016 is shaping up to be a busy year, then you'll need some all-in-one multitaskers in your beauty stash. Consider Garnier's latest micellar cleansing water — which is gentle enough for those with sensitive skin — to remove makeup and cleanse skin simultaneously. This is the good stuff you'll want on hand for that long-wear lip color or waterproof mascara.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon
Maybelline’s famous Color Tattoo Cream has never been easier to apply thanks to its new pencil form. Each of the 10 creamy high-intensity colors glides onto lids effortlessly for the easiest application ever. Our favorite part is the crayon’s versatility: you can use it as a pop of colorful eyeliner, mix a few together for a smoky eye, or simply pack on a single color for beautiful eye shadow. Regardless of what you choose, expect budge-proof results for hours on end.
Milani Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Collection
This isn't your ordinary mini kit of smoky eye essentials. It may be small, but the six-shade offering has everything you need to achieve the sultry look: a solid selection of lid colors, a little something to highlight the brow bone, and a black shadow that can double as eyeliner. What more could you want?
No7 Dramatic Lift Mascara
The makers of this lengthening and lifting mascara were inspired by hair care technology and used Keratin and flexible polymers to ensure lashes look larger than life when coated with this formula. The curved bristles on the brush help deliver the voluminous look, which is said to lift lashes by 70 percent — now that's some serious drama.
NYX Full Throttle Lipstick
We never thought we'd see the day when waterproof lipstick would be a necessity. It may not be a total must for all, but if you're addicted to lip colors, you'll want to try this high-pigment matte lipstick, stat. Its unique beveled tip is made to line and fill lips seamlessly, and the 12-color selection is one of the best we've tried.
NYX Full Throttle Lipstick ($7 each)
Hello Kitty by OPI Nail Lacquer
She’s a fashion icon so it only makes sense that Hello Kitty teamed up with OPI to create a line of fun nail polishes for us to enjoy. The limited-edition lineup comes in 12 colorful hues — including six different shades of pink — and will have matching GelColor formulas. Based on our experience, the hard part will be narrowing your selection down to just one color!
Hello Kitty by OPI Nail Lacquer ($10 each)
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder In-Shower Treatment
Whether your roots are coming in or you simply want to amp up your color by lightening it, the latest in-shower treatment for blondes and brunettes from John Frieda will get the job done. The peroxide-based lightener lifts hair color in just five minutes without the need for any mixing or wearing gloves. The dual-phase tube dispenses two products at once for you, so all you have to do is apply and rise.
Almay Smart Shade Bronzer in Sunkissed
Pretty packaging aside, Almay’s newest bronzer has four coordinated shades to provide a natural glow. The powder itself blends easily and is buildable so that you get a customized sun-kissed effect every time.
Pixi Glow Peel Pads
Pixi is stepping into skin care with a Skintreats line that includes everything from a mud mask to overnight serum. The Glow Peel Pads are a standout — they're packed with 20 percent glycolic acid and rose water for a gentle exfoliation that nourishes skin while giving it a brightening boost.
