I was today years old when I learned Chris Evans has a tattoo honoring his dog, Dodger, and I'm honestly a smidgen offended he decided to hide this nugget of heartwarming information from us for so long. The Captain America actor sneakily revealed the ink earlier this week while sharing a
subtle thirst trap picture of his rescue pup laying on his chest. I was frankly too distracted by Evans's toned pectoral muscles and Dodger's adorable face to notice that the pup was snuggling atop a sizable tattoo of his own name. On Evans's left pec (yes, appropriately right by his heart) is a tat that spells out Dodger in all-caps lettering, with a tiny star by the "D." Check out the pic ahead if you're ready to swoon uncontrollably.
"I've regretted a few in my life, but not that one."
Evans chatted about the sweet tribute to his furry sidekick during a Thursday-evening interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, admitting that he's had the tattoo for a few years and got it pretty soon after adopting Dodger from a shelter back in 2017. "That's probably one of the purest relationships I have," the actor said. "It didn't take much convincing. I'll never regret that tattoo. I've regretted a few in my life, but not that one." Welp, please excuse me while I mop up the melted remains of my heart. Here's to hoping Evans shares even more glimpses at and stories about his many tattoos in the very near future.
