Looks like Dove Cameron is following the advice of hairstylists everywhere to go darker in the winter [1]. The Descendants star made an appearance at a gala in Los Angeles over the weekend dressed in Gucci with shiny, dark brown hair. Hairstylist Clayton Hawkins [2] and colorist Matt Rez [3] transformed Cameron into a brunette beauty for the event.
While Cameron will always be known as an iconic blonde [4], this isn't the first time she's traded in her lighter hair. In March of 2021, Cameron shared a photo on Instagram standing at a mic in a recording studio with no makeup on and her hair pulled back in a tight, low bun or ponytail. Although most of her hair was hidden, what we could see was clearly a dark brown shade.
The caption, which read "Finishing touches," didn't address the new hair color, but a few eagle-eyed fans caught the change. Before that, Cameron hadn't dyed her hair in a while, but she's by no means new to the activity. She's dyed her hair hot pink, black, purple [5], red, and platinum blond over the years. No matter what color she experiments with, she always returns to her golden-blond roots.
