Woman Stands Up to Age-Shaming Salesperson, Becomes a National Hero
One woman's viral Facebook rant is inspiring people everywhere to embrace signs of aging and stand up to those who tell you to do otherwise.
In her post, shown above, Montreal-based Annick Robinson shared her experience with a particularly pushy airport salesperson. After he suggested a slew of antiaging serums and creams, Robinson simply said, "What's wrong with a woman looking 40?" In the conversation that ensued — in which Robinson dropped several mics — the salesperson kept listing all these products to combat something that Robinson was just fine with accepting: her age.
Perhaps the most poignant (and rather beautiful) part of Robinson's argument came when she said, "What's wrong again with a woman aging? You know, my husband and I can't wait to grow old together, we talk about it all the time, how we'll be this funny wrinkled old couple. My husband is going to age too, we all are. It's kind of how life works."
Though we certainly advocate for using beauty products as you please, including antiaging formulas, Robinson's story serves as a much-needed reminder that aging doesn't have to be a bad thing.
