Make no mistake: Hailey Bieber has impossibly good skin, and it would require next-level sorcery to make it look even better. Yet, this is precisely the job of holistic aesthetician (and the star's go-to facialist) Emma Goodman, who's earned the title of "skin witch" on Instagram and at the Skin Worship clinic in Beverly Hills. The secret behind her magic touch, if you had to reduce it down to one thing? Energy healing.

Goodman has been utilizing healing rituals and practices herself and with clients for nearly 19 years, through as many tough times as good — first, at the start of her career as an aesthetician after she began experiencing health issues. "I started seeing a holistic doctor, because I wasn't really getting answers from doctors in general, and everything started to make sense," she said.

Then, when tragedy stuck and Goodman lost her husband to a motorcycle crash while she was pregnant, she decided to undergo her yoga teacher training. "It was during this really gnarly time of walking in between death and life, where I was grieving the loss of my husband and yet I was anticipating the birth of my daughter."

Little by little, as she healed, Goodman began to incorporate those therapeutic rituals into her everyday life — and that included her skin-care practice. In the treatment room specifically, she tries to channel that energy shift to anyone who walks through the door, whether it's through laying on infrared mats (which produces heat to relax the nervous system), reiki (to balance the chakra), an oxygen mask (to increase the oxygen uptake in the skin), or guided meditation (to relax the mind). Sometimes, it's a combination of all the above.

"It's so much more than just slapping some products on your skin. People are overwhelmed and stressed out in their daily lives, and . . . they need their energies to be recharged and rebooted."

"It's so much more than just slapping some products on your skin," Goodman said. "People are overwhelmed and stressed out in their daily lives, and the reason I am busy is because they need their energies to be recharged and rebooted. Every ritual I do is very specific to each person, depending on how they're feeling emotionally and physically, and I never do the same facial twice. But no matter what, when people walk out of the treatment room, they've got great skin but they also feel different."

Going in for a skin-care treatment anywhere, of course, is not an option at the moment, but DIYing a Hailey Bieber-worthy facial at home is as easy as following these healing practices ahead. Frankly, they just might be exactly what the world needs more of right now.

Tip #1: Set an Intention

Psychologists have long touted the power of affirmations, or short statements that mark a commitment to manifest something into existence. The same applies with your skin: "Setting the intention as you're doing your skin-care routine can make a big difference, whether it's in the morning or at night," said Goodman. "I like to light a candle as I set mine, and just be with myself, dropping into my breath. I have little affirmation cards that I write and I put on my bathroom mirror so when I cleanse my face, I'm looking at my skin and I'm saying good things about myself."

Tip #2: Slow Down Your Skin-Care Routine

"Most people just wash their faces really quickly before they go to bed, but giving yourself the time with yourself to wash your face, apply your toner, and maybe do a little facial massage is an act of self-care.

Being intentional in your regimen is also key, and that means slowing down. "Most people just wash their faces really quickly before they go to bed, but giving yourself the time with yourself to wash your face, apply your toner, and maybe do a little facial massage is an act of self-care," she said. "Even staging yourself first to negate any negative energy around your body helps."

Goodman swears by the gua sha tool as a means to help you slow down, encourage lymphatic drainage, and de-puff areas with extra inflammation. If you don't have one, though, "you can use a spoon," she said. "It doesn't have to cost money to care for yourself. Whatever you have, as long as your intentional and do it."

Tip #3: Try Rose Oil

Just like how a rose quartz facial tool represents the heart chakra, it holds equally important meaning in essential oil form. "Rose is an anointing oil for self-love," said Goodman. Typically, she'll use it in the morning to dry brush. "I'll put a rose body oil on my legs and body, and dry brush from the feet up to the heart space. I'll say positive things as I massage in the oil, like, 'Thank you, legs, for taking me where I need to go.' Then in the shower, that hot water helps to sink in that oil."

Our pick? The Jurlique Rose Body Oil ($48).

Tip #4: Find Your Center

As far as crystals, there's one Goodman says will feel especially beneficial in this time of uncertainty and fear: black tourmaline (or smoky quartz). "It's a grounding stone, so it can connect you with your base chakra, which is stability and support," she said. "A lot of people are feeling unstable right now, financially and otherwise, so any black stone that can make you feel supported by the universe will be really good right now."

Black tourmaline can also be used for protection "especially with your energy. There's a lot of negative energy going on because everyone is scared. People want to argue online. This will protect your energy."

Tip #5: Keep Up the Ritual

"The witchy vibe I have is about creating a ritual in the everyday, mundane things," Goodman said. "Just having a routine to do in the morning or night is just really important right now. The world as it is right now is telling us to be more intentional and slow everything down, because we couldn't continue the way we have been."
