See Decades of Nigerian Hairstyles With This Mesmerizing Video
Much like Cut Video's 100 Years of Beauty series, the bloggers behind Black and Beautiful have released a new video that goes through decades of Nigerian hairstyles.
The various natural 'dos shown in the video range from the lush Afros popularized in the 1950s to the more intricate "Onile Gogoro" style from the '70s. The latter holds a particularly powerful backstory: "Onile Gogoro" translates to "standing tall," and this look was actually used as a representation of strength and independence from British rule.
