The annual Met Gala is always home to some of the boldest fashion and beauty looks [1], but the 2022 red carpet [2] may be on track to out-stun them all. One of our favorite looks so far has to go to Janelle Monáe [3], who arrived as the perfect picture of "Gilded Glamour [4]" from the future.

They told Vogue that their goal was all in the details, including everything from the bejeweled Ralph Lauren dress to their matching headpiece, and we couldn't help but notice the finishing touch: their jewel-encrusted manicure [5]. The design on her nails matched the rest of her outfit perfectly, and her poses on the red carpet seemed specifically engineered to show off her entire look — fingernails included.
