Katy Perry [2] is going back to the basics with her nails [3]. On Jan. 28, the singer attended the G'Day USA Arts Gala in LA wearing a metallic two-piece Zimmerman set and a milk-bath manicure [4] to finish it off.

Perry's nails were filed into an oval shape [5] and painted a creamy-pink color [6] — the quintessential shade used to give the nails a milky finish. Perry opted out of any additional nail-art designs, allowing the simple color to shine on its own. The rest of Perry's look included a monochromatic peach makeup look and a sleek updo.

Milk-bath manicures have been spotted on numerous Hollywood A-listers, and have become a staple for red carpets and formal occasions.
