While the Kardashian-Jenner sisters certainly have a lot in common — from launching brands to exploring many fashion and beauty trends [1] over the years — but for a long time, there was one thing in particular that set Kim Kardashian apart from the rest: tattoos. The star once made her stance on body ink clear in a sit-down interview on "The Wendy Williams Show" [2] in 2009 when she said, "Honey, would you put a bumper sticker on a Bentley?" likening herself to the luxurious automotive brand.
More than a decade later, however, it seems Kardashian may have had a change of heart. On a recent episode of "The Kardashians," she revealed that she quietly got a tattoo on her inner lip [3] after filming her "Saturday Night Live [4]" debut in October of 2021. "This is how you celebrate SNL — with a little tattoo at 4:30 in the morning," she said.
A behind-the-scenes clip shows Kardashian getting an infinity symbol inked on the inner area of her bottom lip, a hidden spot [5] she sometimes forgets about. "No one knows, no one sees it, I forget. But every once in a while, I'll be flossing my teeth and I'll see black and I'll go, 'What's this black thing?'"
She's not the only Kardashian-Jenner sister with that exact tattoo placement. Back in July 2016, Kendall Jenner [6] also got the word "MEOW" etched on the inside of her lip, although she later told Ellen DeGeneres [7] on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she regretted the decision.
While Kardashian waited 41 years before getting her own tattoo, that doesn't mean she hasn't inspired others to get inked for her. During her relationship with comedian and actor Pete Davidson [8], which reportedly started in October 2021 and ended sometime in August 2022, the former "Saturday Night Live [9]" star marked their time together by adding four meaningful designs to his expansive 100+ collection [10]. He got the script "My girl is a lawyer" tattooed near his collarbone as an ode to Kardashian passing her baby bar exam, plus a "Kim" branding on his chest. But that wasn't all: he also got a neck tattoo reading "KNSCP," a piece presumably dedicated to Kardashian's children with ex-husband Kanye West, and the words "Jasmine ∞ Aladdin" on his neck, a nod to the former pair's SNL skit together.
Following their split, however, Davidson has reportedly covered up all four pieces that he got for Kardashian. This shouldn't come as a surprise as Davidson was already deep in the process of getting all his tattoos permanently removed [11] when they first linked up.
As for Kim Kardashian [12]? She noted in the episode, "I finally put a bumper sticker on a Bentley."
