The Louvre is entering the cosmetics game. On Sept. 1, the museum will be partnering with Lancôme for the "Beauty Is a Living Art" campaign, highlighting the two French brands' reimagining of the many forms beauty can take [1].
The Lancôme x Louvre collaboration features six products to help you emulate any of the four muses that inspired the collection: Hygie, Hermaphrodite, Nymph with Scorpion, and Nymph Echo. From a five-pan face palette to four new shades of lipstick with packaging that looks like the art on the walls of the Louvre, living your best, French-beauty-inspired life just became a lot easier.
"We want to continuously open new perspectives to today's women in regards to our artistic heritage," Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme's global brand president, says in a press release. "We want to celebrate the fact that beauty is a movement [2] that never stands still." President and Director of the Louvre Laurence des Cars adds: "Our collaboration with Lancôme highlights the diversity of forms found in the Louvre collections — a dialogue between cultures and civilizations that transcends time and geography. Through this encounter between two French institutions, I am delighted to see the artworks and the museum remain modern-day sources of inspiration."
