When it comes to star-studded looks on the red carpet, Leigh-Anne Pinnock knows how to deliver. And for her first appearance as a solo artist [1] at the Brits, after Little Mix went on hiatus last year [2], the singer did not disappoint. While the draped orange dress by Alberta Ferretti gave heroine vibes, it was her incredible up-do that made her look like a real-life goddess.
Putting her stamp on "hair chandeliers," a look spotlighted by trailblazer Lupita Nyong'o [3] at the "Black Panther [4]: Wakanda Forever" premiere last year, Pinnock took braiding intricacies to new heights, with fans dubbing it a look that was seriously "serving." Underneath the braid-arch, hair stylist Dionne Smith [5] hoisted her curls into a messy bun and embellished them with a line of silver-ribbon, adding to the crowning effect.
"I wanted to go for a soft but intricate glam using Leigh's natural curls, but then also introducing a structured piece, which is becoming her signature vibe across her hairstyles," Smith told POPSUGAR. "I created a messy bun and decided to include some silver wire to dress it up a bit. And then I went into creating two braids either side, which I wrapped together using wire and hair to create the sculpture, which I bent into a shape to complement the entire look."
While the hair was the jewel we were all in awe of, we noticed that Pinnock tested out another hot new beauty look: heavy eyeliner. Giving the goddess glow a vampy touch, the mom-of-two [6] accessorized her idyllic look with a fierce feline flick — one that even Adele will be cooing over — and added an ultra-thin line of liquid eyeliner to the corners of her eye to amplify makeup. We couldn't help but spot that she had nailed the "underliner" trend [7] too, drawing the liner underneath to give the illusion of a fox-eye lift.
