Never one to shy from a glamorous red carpet moment, cohost Maya Jama [1] attended the 2022 BRIT Awards [2] wearing one of the hottest makeup trends [3] of the year: floating eyeliner [4] (also commonly referred to "banana" eyeliner [5]).
Jama's glam team pulled out all the stops for the night, creating a sharp cat eye with a floating feline flick in the crease. They paired her eye makeup with a straight middle-part style cascading down her back. Letitia Sophia [6] was behind Jama's chic makeup moment with Brady Lea [7] on her super-long, sleek hair. As for the outfit, Jama wore a standout black zig-zag set dress [8] by Mônot, which was styled by Kyle De'Volle [9].
Jama's floating liner is particularly popular right now thanks to its regular appearances on the hit show "Euphoria [10]." During the series, we've been treated to playful and eye-catching beauty trends [11], including dashes of fluorescent color, vivid reds and purples, lids covered in gems, and intricate gold-foil details. Taking possible inspiration, Jama's eyelids were washed with a golden shimmer and completed with the abstract floating eyeliner. This is a trend we've seen on celebrities from Lori Harvey [12] and Zendaya [13] to Addison Rae [14]. Jama's take on the trend was completed with a smoky baby wing.
For the rest of the look, Sophia added a natural flush to the cheeks using Iconic London's Duo Blush in Coral Glow [15] ($31, originally $37), adding the brand's Original Liquid Illuminator [16] ($40) for a seamless finish. The whole look was finished with a neutral glossy lip. There is no denying that Jama looked magnificent, and we have no doubt part of that is down to skin-care prep using her brand MIJ Masks [17].
All in all, Jama served us a strong eye moment to set the night off with a bang. Read on to see all angles of her floating eyeliner at the 2022 BRIT Awards.
