Products to Help You Heal
Undergoing Fraxel or other intense lasers may not be a breeze, but there are lots of products on the market you can choose from to speed up the healing process, diminish redness, ease soreness, and cut down on itchiness.<product href="https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/aquaphor-healing-skin-ointment/ID=prod14801-product" target="_blank">Aquaphor</product> ($7) works wonders to keep skin highly moisturized for the first few days after your treatment. Though, as you might imagine, slathering petroleum-based ointment on your face might keep you confined to your house for a couple of days because you will look a bit gooey.</p>
Some of the other products I relied on as my skin healed over the next few weeks included
<product href="http://apothica.com/skyn-iceland-arctic-hydrating-balm.html" target="_blank">Skyn Iceland’s Arctic Hydrating Balm</product> ($35) to keep my skin deeply moisturized and flake-free. To instantly cut down on redness I also incorporated
<product href="http://www.dermstore.com/product_Dual+Action+Redness+Relief_69494.htm?lid=2431443" target="_blank">PCA’s Dual Action Redness Relief</product> ($115). It’s formulated with niacinamide to restore skin and alleviate redness.
You should never leave the house without sunscreen and that cardinal skin care rule is extra important after receiving any type of laser treatment. Two of my favorites are
<product href="http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3777513" target="_blank">MdSolarSciences Daily Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 30</product> ($68) and
<product href="http://apothica.com/skinceuticals-phyto-corrective-masque.html" target="_blank">Neutrogena’s Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 55</product> ($11). Both offer up a dose of protection and moisture without leaving skin looking oily or feeling tacky. To give my skin an extra dose of TLC, I also used
<product href="https://www.skincarerx.com/skinceuticals-phyto-corrective-masque-60ml/11339142.html" target="_blank">SkinCeuticals' PhytoCorrective Masque</product> ($55) twice a week to promote healing. Like many of Skinceuticals’ corrective products this mask was made specifically for post-treatment skin but it’s also a great tool to have in your arsenal as a pick-me-up when you need a boost of hydration.
