New Year's Eve is upon us, meaning there's not much time left to plan out your full celebratory glam. Once you have your outfit bought and your manicure done, there's only one last thing to do: decide on a makeup look. Whether you're meeting up with friends or planning on being cozy on the couch when the clock strikes midnight, there are so many different ways you can do your makeup. You can stick to the basics and go for a more muted look with just a single pop of color or go for high impact with lots of glitter.

If you're feeling stuck or just simply overwhelmed by the sheer amount of inspiration on the internet, makeup artist Lindsay Kastuk shared her New Year's Eve makeup tips. Keep reading to find out more about the three makeup trends she recommended to ring in the new year.

New Year's Eve Makeup Look: Graphic Eyeliner

Unless you've abstained from opening Instagram for the last two years, you know that graphic eyeliner is the makeup trend right now. "One of the biggest trends that I am personally excited about is graphic liner in classic black and even some colors," Kastuk told POPSUGAR. "This year on the SS22 runway, we saw some really cool graphic liner looks for Versace, Dior, Christian Siriano, Duncan, Emilia Wickstead, and many others." Pair a fun graphic eyeliner look, like the banana, fairy-wing, or reverse eyeliner trend, with natural-looking base makeup and a glossy lip to round it out.

To get the look at home, grab any liquid or pencil eyeliner. We like the Wet n Wild Megalast Breakup-Proof Liquid Eyeliner ($5) or the Revlon So Fierce! Chrome Ink Liquid Eyeliner ($12), which comes in three colors.

According to Pinterest's latest trend report (not to mention recent red carpets), crystal eye makeup is going to be everywhere in 2022. There's no better way to get ahead of the trend than wearing it into Jan. 1. "Little rhinestone accents glued near or around the eyes are always fun and a great alternative to the common glitter or shimmer eyeshadow looks for New Year's Eve," Kastuk said. "This is such a great idea for those who have not played with makeup a lot before. There's no pressure for 'perfection' with this look — just have fun with it."

Kastuk recommended the E.l.f. Cosmetics' Face & Body Gems ($2) or ColourPop Crystal Face Jewel Set ($8).

New Year's Eve Makeup Look: No-Fuss Lips

Having to constantly touch up your makeup is never fun, but especially not on holidays. You want to be able to enjoy yourself without any stress, and what's the most common makeup product that always needs refreshing? Lipstick. "For a no-fuss lip, you can pair either of these looks with a lip gloss or a glossy balm and be good to go for the entire night," Kastuk said.

Try the Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment ($18) or the Catrice Powerfull 5 Glossy Lip Oil ($7).
