Spring 2023 Makeup Trend: Neon Liner

"I'm all about a bold, graphic liner, and this season, I'm excited to see neon liner as a rising trend to watch," Saenz says. "The possibilities are endless, as you can apply a subtle line of neon across the lash line or go bold by adding a graphic design on the lid and brow bone. For festival season and beyond, this is one trend we're sure to see this spring."

To try the look for yourself, use a liner like the NYX Retractable Long-Lasting Mechanical Eyeliner Pencil ($7) to sweep across your lash line and flick out into a wing for a more low-key look. Or if you want something more intense, use an angled brush to create graphic lines and shapes higher on the lid and brow bone for a statement look.

Spring 2023 Makeup Trend: Flush of Blush Beneath the Eyes

"Spring is the time for blush to shine, and this season, I'm seeing application of everyone's favorite makeup step rise up to just beneath the eye," Saenz says. "This subtle yet impactful touch beautifully adds a flush of color that mimics a little sunburn, without the damage."

Figueroa agrees, saying, "It can brighten your eyes as well if you use the right shade, and you can do this using powder, liquid, or cream."

To get the look, apply a sweep of blush higher on your cheek, reaching to just beneath your eye. This delivers a lifted, flushed look that looks super fresh. This season, Saenz is loving the KVD Beauty Everlasting Refillable Blush ($30) in the shade Poppy, as it delivers a subtle pop of color.

Spring 2023 Makeup Trend: Soft-Matte Skin

"This trend is very different compared to your typical glass-skin trend during the warmer months, but it is back and in full effect," Figueroa says. "It gives a full-coverage look without the full-coverage texture."

To achieve soft-matte skin, Figueroa says it's important to choose breathable matte foundation, like the Nars Soft Matte Foundation ($42). She also recommends using the Anisa Beauty Pinnacle Foundation Brush ($38), which will help you land the right look.

Spring 2023 Makeup Trend: Statement Lip Liner With a Glossy Pout

"A statement lip liner with glossy pout to match is one of the leading trends this season," Saenz says. "We're all about defining our lips, so when you find your perfect shade of lip liner, creating this look is super simple, even on the go, and this trend can go so many directions, whether subtle or full glam."

To create the look, Saenz recommends starting with the KVD Beauty Everlasting Lip Liner ($23), which she says is both easy to apply and pigmented. "To achieve a fuller, rounder pout, I like to start from the outside corner of the lips, working the liner towards the Cupid's bow. If you're looking for a more defined finish, start at the Cupid's bow with a small X, and work the lines outside from there. Once the liner is in place, tap on your favorite lip gloss or balm for a high-shine finish."

If you're looking for a step-by-step tutorial on overlining your lips, we'd recommend Mary Phillips's tutorial — an editor favorite.

Spring 2023 Makeup Trend: Fishtail Eyeliner

Don't let the strange name fool you — the fishtail-eyeliner trend isn't about sketching a fish-like tail onto the outer corner of your eye (but if you're into that, to each their own). Instead, it's more abstract. "Fishtail eyeliner is a double-liner trend that makes your eye shape kind of look like a fish," Moore previously told POPSUGAR. "It's something that's unique and unusual but very lovely."

To shop the trend, we recommend a felt-tip liquid liner. Some of our favorites: the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner ($24) and Maybelline New York Hyper Easy Liquid Eyeliner ($10).
