8 Spring Nail-Art Ideas to Try This Season

The arrival of a new season always presents a good excuse to try new beauty trends β€” like spring nail-art ideas. If you haven't already added some of the season's most popular polish colors and nail-art ideas to your seasonal mood board, we have plenty of inspiration to help you get started. From cute nail-art designs for spring that you can do yourself to more intricate styles that are made just for acrylic nails, you'll find something that fits your style.

"The spring always brings a welcome feeling of optimism," Nadine Abramcyk, cofounder of Tenoverten, tells POPSUGAR. Each year, we're served a ton of fresh inspiration from New York Fashion Week and some of our favorite nail experts on social media, both of which have a role in the spring nail designs that pique our interest when the warmer temperatures roll around. As a result, the most popular spring nail-art ideas are not the basic single-color manicures of your youth. Instead they're equal parts chic and edgy.

The latest trending styles include everything from Skittle-inspired colorways to the classic french manicure and everything in between. No matter what you're looking for, there's an adorable spring nail-art option out there for you. Ahead, we've asked manicurists to break down the ones worth trying.

Multicolor French Manicure

French manicures aren't going anywhere. The spring months will find them refreshed with a new wave of color. "Multicolor french manicures will be popular because it's a great way to add a playful spin on a classic trend," Mazz Hanna, CEO of Nailing Hollywood, says.

Jelly Nails

Jelly nails feel like a blast from the past, but the 2024 version is anything but. "Jelly nails capture a light and refreshing feeling that is perfect for the spring," Hanna says. "Whether you want a subtle touch with a delicate pink [color] or you're ready to make a bold statement with vibrant blues, greens, or purples, they offer endless possibilities."

Pastel Nails

Colorful nails are always in for spring, but the more color, the merrier. "This trend is very easy to DIY, and you can rock many colors at once," celebrity manicurist Queenie Nguyen says. Abramcyk adds, "Pastels are a great way to tap into color in a softer way, and we always see our customers gravitate towards these shades as the season changes."

Wavy Nails

If you love abstract designs, wavy-line nail art is right up your alley. "Fun pastel and neon colors accompanied by wavy designs will be popular," says Molly Romah, lead nail technician at Chillhouse. Think ocean waves or sunbeams β€” this trend will immediately get you in the mood for the warmer temperatures ahead.

Mismatched Nails

This season is all about more β€” more color and more nail art. "Why rock one design when you can mix and match multiple patterns on each fingernail?" says Nguyen.

Coquette Nails

Soft pink, coquette-inspired nails are always a fun choice. "Especially since the color is perfect for spring," Hanna says.

Barely There Nails

While we love a good maximalist beauty look β€” especially when it comes to our manicures β€” we've been seeing celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Lana Condor pull back when it comes to their nail-art designs. "Barely there nails, or naked nails, are trending everywhere right now," Abramcyk says.

Red Nails

Red is still the color to watch, so make your jelly nails the talk of the town by using the shade in your manicure.
