Diana Ross is alright but the ultimate black style icon is Pam Grier. She was FIERCE. How about doing a profile on her?

I think Diana Ross is just too much. She buries herself in makeup and 5 feet hair.

Miss Ross is one of my al-time favorites. She's high glam and DIY altogether, and Gwen Stefani is actually a really good comparison. Seeing this choice for Bella Donna is what made me stop lurking and finally join TeamSugar. Hope there are plans to profile Stevie Nicks, the original Bella Donna.

Pretty crazy, huh? Can you imagine Madonna or Beyonce doing their hair and makeup on tour? Somehow I don't think they'd be into that (although... I *could* see Gwen doing it for some reason).

Wow, I like the quotes of hers that you listed Bella, loads of truth in those! I didn't know she went to beauty school when she was young and did the Supremes hair etc... that is so cool!

Yeah. Diana was an image of black beauty and elegance when there were so few. She's an icon.
