One day after Gomez and her costars wrapped filming for season two [2] of "Only Murders in the Building [3]," she headed straight for her hairstylist, Orlando Pita [4], and got a new set of bottleneck bangs [5] that frame her face better than that season one finale [6] framed Mabel for a crime she didn't commit.
In a photo shared to her Instagram account on March 31, Gomez sported a shaggy bob [7] that fell around her face in voluminous waves [8]. In the signature bottleneck style, her bangs curved across her forehead while the edges, slightly longer than the rest, skimmed the top of her cheekbones, resulting in a look that was choppy yet soft. "New hair who dis?" she captioned the photo.
Gomez's makeup artist, Hung Vanngo [9], assisted by Jayden Ho Pham [10], used beauty products from Gomez's Rare Beauty [11] collection to give her a soft pink lip, a rosy contour, lightly feathered eyebrows, and classic winged eyeliner. Gomez completed the look with a deep violet manicure.
A day earlier, Gomez gave a sneak peek at her new hairstyle in a TikTok video where she declared her love for "resting." The next day, Gomez poked fun at her love life in a TikTok video captioned, "Maybe this is why I'm single. Don't believe a damn word. 😭🤣." Both videos give a quick glimpse at the "Let Somebody Go [12]" singer's new hairstyle, and we're beyond tempted to reach for the scissors.
Gomez's new style made its debut just days after the singer appeared at the 2022 Oscars ceremony in a sleek ponytail [13] and a red Louis Vuitton dress [14].
